== Introduction ==

This page explains how to provide and receive data streams to and from IALA-NET.

IALA-NET allows you to provide an online data stream from your own national AIS network to IALA-NET, and to receive a consolidated data stream from all the participants across the world in return.

== Providing data ==

Once you have been declared qualified to participate in IALA-NET you will receive an e-mail with your account details, wherein you'll find information on how to download the provider proxy application from the download site. IALA/DaMSA will supply you with the necessary certificate and configuration files to get started.

== Subscribing to data ==

If you wish not only to use the web display and statistics module, but also to receive an online data stream, you may download the subscriber proxy application from the download site. IALA/DaMSA will supply you with the necessary certificate and configuration files, once you have been declared qualified to participate in IALA-NET.

== Data format ==

The AIS data stream data format is identical to the basic VDM / VDO output on the Presentation Interface of AIS devices such as class A stations, Base Stations or AIS receivers, as described in IEC 61162 / IEC 61993-2 / IEC 62320-1:

== Interface ==

Data are provided to or received from IALA-NET via the internet, through a provider and a subscriber proxy application, using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption across the internet. Your local network or display systems will communicate with the provider or subscriber proxy application internally on your own network using unencrypted TCP (telnet) connections.
