Primary cell

An electrochemical cell in which the chemical reaction is irreversible.

Note 1: The cell is not re-usable after the charge is exhausted.

Note 2: There are many types of primary cells, of which the most common are zinc-carbon (Leclanche), alkaline-manganese and lithium.
